Aphrodite is a German-Greek photographer based in Berlin, Germany. Her specialties are architecture and conceptual photography, and she is an avid digital editor and art director. She has successfully organized and implemented her own photographic concepts.

 

She has participated in several international photography contests and exhibitions under the patronage of FIAP and PSA, among others. Her images have won numerous medals, praises, FIAP ribbons, honorable mentions, and salon plaques.

 

Her work has also been displayed in public showings and contest exhibitions  and published  in print and e-magazines, as well as in the exhibition books iof the contests in which she has participated.

Her most significant achievement in photography was the selection of her work "OAKA" for the shortlist in the amateur Architecture Category at the Sony World Photography Awards 2010. The shortlist was announced on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, and included the names of 190 outstanding photographers from 48 different countries. From fashion to music, architecture to current affairs, the Sony World Photography Awards is one of the most comprehensive photographic competitions in the world. In total, over 43,700 images were entered into the amateur competition, and Afroditi's work "OAKA" stood out above the rest and was rated among the top ten photographers in the ARCHITECTURE category by the Honorary Judging Committee of that year's Awards. By being shortlisted, that image was exhibited at the SWPA exhibition in Cannes and was printed in the official 2010 SWPA Book.

Aphrodite  has been a member of the Deutscher Verband für Fotografie (DVF) since February 2015.
